- southern elm
each of square section, the moulded frame enclosing a soft mat seat, above a plain apron framed by a beaded edge, all supported on four slightly splayed half-round legs narrowing slightly below the seat, the legs joined by four horizontal rounded stretchers, the wood of a warm golden-brown colour

Condition
The two stools are generally in good condition. The caning on top is old although likely to have been restored at some stage as it is usually the case. There are a few stains or light scratches to the surface in areas and wormholes to the bottom of the feet as well as old chips. One of the transverse stretchers of one of the stools has some cracks and seems to bear an old repair.
