龎均一九三六年出生於上海的藝術世家，父親龎薰琹、母親丘堤為中國第一代留學海外的油畫家。龎均從小耳濡目染，十三歲考入杭州美院，後轉入北京中央美術學院學習，十八歲以優異的成績畢業，曾積極組織並參與油畫團體「北京油畫研究會」的活動。一九八〇年移居香港，一九八七年定居台灣，任教於台灣藝術大學。多年來的實踐與教學使龎均的油畫成就獲得了廣泛的肯定與好評，被列入英國劍橋世界名人錄，並獲「卓越藝術貢獻獎」。

此幅《春滿狀元樓》構圖平穩，畫中高牆封閉，馬頭翹角。石雕漏窗三扇，似隔非隔，避外隱內。高牆之外初開桃花數棵，層層疊落之白牆後更有綠色一抹，與白雲藍天、芳草綠地相映，共灼春融。頗有「人間四月芳菲盡，山寺桃花始盛開」之情境。畫中牆線方正，錯落有致，黑瓦白牆幾何抽象般分割畫面，構成純粹。《春滿狀元樓》氣韻生動，用色清新雋永，線條既有西方油畫理性特徵，亦蘊涵東方文人畫的詩情畫意，是龎均融匯中西技法、穿行現代與古典，體現其美術修養之佳作。
