Condition
The censer is in good overall condition. There is a small removable cylindrical container set into the aperture of the body made of metal that is enamelled on the interior. The head and the body are made separately and are not attached by a hinge. The rich yellow gilding is slightly worn on the base of the four feet and there are casting flaws to the base of two feet. There is a small area with a casting flaw just above the necklace with the suspended bell on the front of the beast. There are traces of malachite patina in the recessed areas of the censer.
