Condition
The inside base of the box is slightly raised along a ca. 14cm long vertical line joined at the top by a ca. 10cm long raised line (forming a T shape) and probably following where the underlying pieces of wood are joined. There is wear to the lacquer on the base of the box and the interior and rim may have been relacquered in the past.
The cover is in overall good condition. There are minor losses to the edges and points of the carved design. The three-colour carving is deep and crisp.
