This work is in very good condition. There is evidence of slight craquelure upon very close examination. There is no evidence of restoration seen under UV.

「陳蔭羆的抽象表現主義又區別於極度個性張揚的、具有視覺強暴性的美國式抽象表現主義。如果說富有狂暴情緒的德庫寧(Willien de Kooning)是以粗暴的筆觸、縱橫的線條和空間交疊的形象給他的作品注入了驚人的活力,那麼,陳蔭羆的作品則以內在的含蓄、沈靜來展現筆法的豐富變化和色彩的和諧變奏,他是在沉潛中顯示動的力量,寓動於靜,將激情的波瀾注入變化微妙的意味中;如果說波洛克(Jackson Pollock)的作品中始終流動著一種原始的力量,他是以直覺或偶然的因素表現下意識,用各式各樣的方法滴、灑、刮、打罐子裡的顏料,並通過這個過程體驗心靈自覺的動力,那麼陳蔭羆的線、形、色相對於波洛克的原始性,則顯示出文人的書卷氣,它以文化的溫和恭謙顯示遠古文明的滄桑悲涼,他的表現性過程是在書法線條的空間中隨意生髮,即興揮寫,其行動是不為而為,是一種空境玄靈的精神體驗;如果說托比(Mark Tobey)是借助於東方的書法來表達他對於紐約曼哈頓城市的感覺,他的抽象表現是美國抽象表現繪畫中最具有中國書法的線條質感,那麼他的白色書寫遠沒有陳蔭羆作品的中國文化意蘊,也遠沒有陳蔭羆那樣自然地將豐富的色彩轉換為書法的靈氣。」
