This work is in good condition. There are scattered spots of retouching in the upper part of the painting, predominantly at the upper left corner. There is evidence of scattered minor craquelure along the top edge and at the center of the work.

樸素純靜的家鄉之美
創作於1988年的《西藏女孩》貫徹了羅中立回國後的成熟畫風。《父親》時期苦澀的批判意味已幾乎殆盡，不變的是他依舊無保留地表現質樸鄉村人物的生活真實面。羽毛般細膩的筆觸和溫柔迷濛的顏色為畫面籠罩了一層平靜、安詳與和諧。遠處的雪域高原一片蒼茫冰冷，貧瘠山區的艱辛生活可想而知。不同於米勒常以昏暗色彩渲染鄉土題材的厚重，羅中立描繪了一幅像任何塵埃都不願沾染的圖畫，空靈、純淨。女孩背着水瓶從遠方遺世獨立的小村落跋涉而來、徐徐走近。畫家捕捉到她的一眼瞬間，在畫面上定格為永恆。他的畫中人物也不像米勒筆下帶有宗教靜謐氣息的法國農民，而是伴隨着中國改革開放，對未來抱有樂觀豁達心態的民族典型。女孩純真而篤定的目光直入心扉，引發觀者的共鳴，觸及作品的靈魂。
