司徒強的穹界之花
司徒強生於廣東,在香港成長,於台灣師範大學美術系畢業後即赴美國著名的普萊特設計學院(Pratt Institute)攻讀碩士,從此定居紐約直至辭世。其照相寫實的功力卓著,為華人世界首屈一指。其四處漂移的經歷,使他對個人生命與歷史宏景都有深刻的領悟,曾自述道:「死亡是任何有情生命的必然輪迴,繁花殞落,繽紛又淒哀,臨終繾綣回首,以豔無盡悲哀,尤有熾烈執著的熱情。」
是次上拍的《火》,為其經典的創作代表。當中既有寫實亂真的鮮豔玫瑰,如滄海一粟孤獨地綻放在炙紅的幻境裡,也有凋零的花朵,以殘骸之姿飄浮在黑洞般的渾沌間。虛實結合的畫面營造了一個與觀者對話的空間,其美其哀的意境將藝術家對生命的透視與眷戀凝聚、釋放。其畫意情境裡的綺纂絢煌、落花煙重,亦讓閱讀者產生中國古典文學的遐思。作品強而有力,讓人在讚嘆其寫實功力之餘,又遁入無窮的想像空間之中。
其作品特色,如藝評家高千惠所言: 「像是前朝舊事裡一抹短促的記憶,飄落到另一個陌生的幻境裡。儘管他的畫面以枯殘、孤零、凋落之物為主題,但這種似以萬古長空一羽毛的姿態,顯現出藝術家極欲在已逝的物象生命中,捕捉住可以永久保存的形體生命,他讓這些頹逝中的物象,在另創的圖像世界復活,將它們的最後餘姿定格在不再被時間磨損的藝術生命之中,真幻對照,常與不常對視。」給人留下深刻的印象。
