The work is in good condition overall, as is the silk. There are indications of light wear and handling around the edges, along with associated thin runs located mainly on the lower left and top margin. There is also a minute paint loss primarily on the lower right and a slight warping of the board, which is only evident upon close observation. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of restoration. Framed.

阮德農專於漆畫，為越南漆畫的現代化作出很大貢獻，其不少作品現為越南國立藝術館館藏。阮德農於1938年在河內美術學院畢業，他對漆畫、水墨及絹本等媒材都應用自如。《亭下女子》便是一幅集水墨與水粉的絹本作品，畫於1942年，是其早期佳作之一。

三個著傳統夏裝的妙齡女子背對觀者，閒坐於亭下竹凳上，陽光輕輕灑在她們身上，與園間一片清新嫩綠形成了柔和舒服的色調，畫家似乎在邀請觀者一同享受這週日午後的悠然時光。
