The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks due to age and handling. There are the usual minor scratches on the top. Some small chips to the marble on the edges. The gilding of the mounts is slightly tarnished. The lateral sides show traces of gilt bronze mounts which are now missing. As visible on the illustration, the top is fitted with four engraved rails which correspond to a glass cover which is now missing but it can be re-created easily if necessary.
