Movement is in working order while cataloguing, but it has not been tested for the accuracy of time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense. Dial in very good condition. Case in good condition with light scuffs. Composite crystal.

References 6263 and 6265 were launched in 1969 in stainless steel, 14k and 18k yellow gold cases. The calibre used was the 727, which runs at 21’600 beats per hour; the cases were guaranteed to be water resistant to 50 meters due to the screw-down pushers and crown developed by Rolex. The dial of the gold model bears the certified chronometer indication. During the 20 years in which the reference 6263 was made, the majority of pieces were manufactured in stainless steel with less than 10% believed to have been made in gold. Of these, examples in 14k gold cases are the rarest to be found on the market.
