Movement is in working order while cataloguing but it has not been tested for the accuracy of time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense. Minute repeater perfectly working. Dial in very good condition, tiny hairline in the month subsidiary dial. Professionally polished case in very good condition, polished inside cuvette, few tiny scratches overall the case due to normal wear. Overall in very good condition.

The first pocket watch with minute repeater and perpetual calendar known to have been made by Patek Philippe dates to 1874. Research shows that from 1874 to 1889, the perpetual calendar movements were all slightly different from each other as the company worked towards perfecting the complication. Consequently, watches with perpetual calendar made during the 1874-1889 period can all be considered unique. Patek Philippe finally patented their complication on May 23rd, 1889 under Swiss Patent No.1018.
Only 85 pocket watches with minute repeater and perpetual calendar are known to the market, of which approximately 60 were made before World War II. The advantage of a perpetual calendar mechanism lies in its ability to indicate the jump in days, dates, months and lunar phases, regardless of the number of days in a month and the complication will even allow for leap years.
