此品屬於Graham Blyth，南非國家南極考察隊(SANAE South African National Antarctic Expedition) 27遠征隊成員。SANAE成立於1960年，目的是研究南極土地與自然環境的科學、氣象和圖片。在極端的環境下，南極的長夜，溫度可低至-50℃，強烈的磁場、風和風暴，SANAE隊要忍受異常苛刻的環境。Graham Blyth由勞力士贊助，毫無疑問，提供給他遠征的是最強的型號之一，Explorer I型號1016。此品按下列條件提供給Blyth使用：

勞力士從1960年生產Explorer 1型號直到1990年左右大約三十年。其時，此錶款有更新，但從來沒有徹底改變，其經典外型和堅固的設計使它歷久不衰，吸引了運動員、冒險家及手錶鑑賞家。
