Catalogue Note

In 1780, Antide Janvier, a gifted watchmaker and watchmaker to the King of France, found that by putting two pendulums on the same structure they began to beat together in resonance. This force enveloped the pendulums, protecting them from outside vibrations and enhancing the movement's precision. Two centuries later, and after A.L. Breguet succeed in building a pocket watch with two pendulums, Francois-Paul Journe, another gifted watchmaker, found the way to put this phenomenon into a wristwatch: the remarkable Chronomètre à Résonance.
