上款：「侶笙」即陳國鏞，投萬木草堂門下。維新事敗，出逃日本。
流寓東瀛期間，偕同門諸子投身政治運動，與梁啟超關係尤切。
一八九九年，他與任公等十二人結義於當地江之島金龟樓。同年，梁
陳等十三人聯署〈上南海先生書〉，倡與孫中山先生合作一事。一九零
二年，〈新民叢報〉創刊，陳侶笙與梁氏俱為入股人。

本幅上款稱曰「義長」，任公自署「啟超」，稱謂省客套之辭，情非泛
泛。所題「義心俠骨」，堪作兩人投身歷史洪流中意氣相投之寫照。
