-Foxing can be found near the bottom border of the painting and the lower part of the mounting, which can be improved by restoration. Discolouration along the boundaries of the painting, which could be improved by restoration. A tiny sign of paper loss could be found in the middle of the painting, where the bamboo is, and can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

本輯出自劉翼凌舊藏（1903-1994）。劉氏畢業於廣東省立梅州中學，後入讀復旦大學中文系，因與陳樹人兒子陳復同學關係，得引見於陳氏，並獲賞識，聘為秘書。他們仝好詩詞，常相唱和，關係益切，陳氏詩集付梓即由他撰序。抗戰期間，他獲國民黨海外部派赴緬甸及印度工作，先後出任兩地黨總支部書記長。因國內政局遽變，四八年轉赴巴基斯坦，獲聘為達卡大學中文教授，是時，信奉基督教。一九五四年移居香港，從事文字宣道工作，參與多份宗教雜誌編務。六十年代中期赴美定居，仍致力於福音傳播。他好詩詞書法，尤擅草書，在港期間，與文藝界頗有交往。

劉翼凌與林風眠乃梅州中學同窗。在陪都重慶時，彼此亦有往還。一九七七年，林風眠自滬遷港，與是時移居美國之劉氏取得聯絡，劉氏亦向他購得作品多幅，本輯即其中部份。

註：劉氏在港期間，從事文事宣道工作，加入證道出版社，自五六至
六七年，主編〈燈塔〉雜誌。一九五七年，趙少昂接受該刊訪問，概論
國畫藝術。六年後，再獲邀撰文，介紹嶺南畫派技法，先後連載近
七十篇，並結集成書。
劉氏擅書法，對少昂畫藝頗為推崇，因對藝術共同嗜好，遂得其寫贈
本幅誌念。
