上款：「佛觀」即徐復觀（1904-1982），湖北浠水人。早歲就讀於鄂省
立第一師範學校，後東渡日本留學。返國後，從戎，歷任國民政府軍
職。抗戰期間，一度獲派駐延安任聯絡職務。返陪都後，任蔣介石侍
從室機要秘書，授少將銜。政權轉易，他在港台兩地從事教育與學術
研究，致力宣揚新儒家學說，與唐君毅、牟宗三諸賢成為新儒家的代
表人物。歷任港台高等學府教席，又掌〈華僑日報〉筆政，撰寫評論，
學術著作等身，範圍廣涉中國傳統文化、思想及藝術等，其治學為人
深受儒林敬重。

註：一九五四年四、五月之交，心畬先生應邀赴台中師範學校講課。
本幅寫於「甲午三月」，按公曆推算，乃此行所作。題曰「邂逅」，詩中
次句「今知城北公」，寓「徐」姓，即指復觀先生，似為兩人結識時所寫。
心畬好畫〈三駝圖〉，取意自明代李士達同題作品，以畫中三駝背老者
譏諷「世上而今無直人」。本幅句曰「何因混塵市，直道豈能容」，隱喻
徐氏梗直剛烈，無阿諛巧色之辭，故與當道相違。實亦為心畬自況，
喻人喻己，別具深意！
