carved seated in lalitasana on a cloth-draped rock emerging from a lotus pond, flanked by a vase and parrot supported on rocky outcrops, sheltered beneath a canopy with a nimble monkey overhead, the outline of the canopy reminiscent of Mucalinda, the multi-headed serpent who sheltered Buddha from the elements after his enlightenment

Condition

There is a crack to the edge of the base and the two lotus blossoms are repaired. There are minor nicks throughout, along with paint and gilt loss. There is a small crack just below the figure's legs and a small drill hole in the back. The monkey atop the canopy has a broken left ear, and an additional monkey has been lost from the other side of the canopy. The two attendants are also missing.
