  • coral
carved as a slender vase among a peach tree springing from rockwork, three birds perched on the branches and a lion-dog and bird below, the finial with a bird grasping a sprig of peach in its mouth

Condition

The base has been drilled to mount as a lamp and the cover is affixed to the vase. There is a 2 1/4 in. (5.5 cm) fine vertical crack to one side of the vase. There is a polished chip to the end of a branch that one bird is perched on, and there is fill under that bird's wing. There are some scattered nicks and chips to the edges of the leaves, and natural flaws inherent in the coral.
