each with a well-rounded crestrail comprised of three scarf-joined members and set on straight back posts and S-shaped front and side posts, a shaped spandrel beneath each elegantly outscrolled and rounded terminal, with a rectangular splat flanked by integral graduating flanges and enclosing a carved circular medallion of a frontal dragon rising from waves, the post continuing through the hardwood seat frame forming the legs of circular sections secured by plain beaded aprons and four stretchers of ascending height, a single transverse section underneath  (2)

Condition

Both crestrails with repaired broken joins to either side of the back splat that have been filled and consolidated. One with small splits rising from the base of the splat and a repaired shatter to one front post. The other with a split to the footrest where it joins the leg and there is an open split to the back of the splat. The joins of both armchairs all consolidated.
