of oblong form, the flat cover painted with a ferocious dragon writhing amongst flame wisps in pursuit of a flaming pearl, encircled by a ruyi band at the side, the exterior of the box similarly decorated, the interior divided into shaped compartments

Condition
A diagonal section to one end of the cover (cutting across the top of the dragon's head) broken and re-stuck. The break clearly visible and measuring a maximum of approximately 60mm from the narrow edge of the cover. Another semi-circular break to the left-hand side of the cover, again clearly visible and measuring 80mm wide. Some re-painting to the rim of the box. Otherwise in very good condition with minor surface wear.
