each carved in the form of a curled lotus leaf where abundant fish, amphibians and shellfish swim, borne on a bundle of stems issuing a lotus and other water plants beside and into the well, the underside incised with insects
Condition
Both washers in good general condition with several age cracks, the most significant of which is visible to the upper right hand corner of the washer with the double fish, and is visible in the catalogue image. Further small nicks and chips to the relief carving elsewhere. A break and a 2mm associated loss to one of the millet stems to washer with toads. The pigments well maintained.
