carved seated on a pierced rocky plinth, his left hand clasping an open book resting on his raised left knee, dressed in loose fitting robes falling into voluminous folds, incised with ruyi cloud bands and inlaid with turquoise at the edges, his cheerful face with a gentle smile framed by a curled beard, the hair neatly combed to the back, the stone of a pale beige tone suffused with dark red inclusions
Condition
Two chips to the lower edge of the figure's book, measuring approximately 6mm and 4mm; chips to the tips of his little finger on his right hand and thumb on left hand. Further extensive chips to the edge of robe; one turquise inlay beading missing; old chips to lower edge of rocky base; surface scratching elsewhere.
