carved seated with his right knee raised, the hands held to his right chest supporting an alms bowl on a brocade cloth, wearing loose fitting robes falling in voluminous folds and extended over his head forming the hood, hemmed with foliate and diaper bands, the face with a benign expression, the opaque stone of an attractive golden yellow tone mottled with caramel and darker red inclusions
Condition
The figure is in very good condition with the exception of minor rubbing to the gilding and paint. The figure may be attached to a base originally, as traces of glue remain on the base. There are some natural inclusions to the stone, the stone is of a slightly darker tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
