the exterior decorated with panelled designs enclosing figures in a garden landscape with mythical beasts and flowers, the inside cover lacquered with a scene of birds amongst flowers, divided into compartments to the interior, lacquered wood stand
Condition
The box and cover is in general good condition with the exception of areas of loss and inlay. The top has general age cracks. There is a 3x7cm loss to the front right corner. Similarly losses include that on the right side (2x2cm). There is a replaced section to the left corner (4x6cm). There are losses to the inlaid shell to the front (2.5 x 2.5cm) and a replaced one on the back (2 x 2cm). The wood stand has chips along the extremities, including an area of loss to one side of the top (3x4cm), there are vertical cracks along the legs and slight fading to the lacquer.
