each with deep rounded sides rising from a gently spreading foot to a flared rim, the translucent stone of an even white tone suffused with milky-white streaks and natural fissures, wood stands
Condition
The stone of a less yellowish-green tone than as shown in the catalogue image. Both bowls in good general condition, with some natural fissues and inclusions within the stone. One with two large flaw or crack to the rim, measuring approximately 62mm.

Born in Sussex, England, Cedric Blaker (1886-1958) travelled to Shanghai in 1910 before permanently moving to Hong Kong in 1911, where he helped found Gilman's Trading Company. He was interned at Hong Kong's Port Stanley Prisoner of War Camp during World War 2, and was later appointed Chairman of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (1955-1958). Blaker amassed his fine collection of Chinese works of art with the help of his wife, Louise.
