- Cloisonne enamel, gilt copper
each with a globular body brightly decorated to the exterior against a turquoise ground with meandering lotus scrolls arranged in double registers below a ruyi band, the base with a quatrefoil cartouche enclosing floral sprays issuing from rockwork, all reserved on a ground of scrolling lotus, the domed cover decorated with a stylised phoenix curled amidst ruyi clouds
Condition
Both in very good general condition, with some pitting and flaking to the enamels, with very minor areas of infill. Extensive wear to gilt bronze mounts.
