the ovoid body rising from a straight foot to a wide tapered neck, painted to the exterior with insects interspersed with detached floral sprays including lotus, peony, camellia, orchid and prunus, all below a pendent lappet band, the domed cover similarly decorated

Condition

The cover is glued to the jar, so the rims and interior have not been inspected but it does appear as though the rim has been reduced. Extensive rim frits elsewhere. Numerous minor firing imperfections. The underglaze blue slightly blurred, with some scratching and surface wear.
