carved recumbent with head resting on its back, its clawed feet tucked underneath and the wings folded and incised with plumage, the amber of a mottled dark brown colour lightening to an attractive translucent orange at the extremities
Condition
There are overall small chips to the extremities, including a 0.5 x 0.5cm loss to one claw, small nicks to the edges of the feathers etc. The surface of the amber is covered with small nicks. The amber is of a darker chocolate tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
