of rectangular form, densely carved and undercut with a scene of figures engaged in leisurely pursuits in terraced gardens and pavilions by the banks
Condition
The top panel, the lower left of the cover and the base of the box may have been restuck with visible traces of yellow glue. A circa 3cm area to the lower edge of the cover has been broken and restuck. There is a 1cm crack running diagonally across the bottom right corner of the cover. The cover and the box are secured with three metal pins. There are general nibbling and minor nicks along the extremities.
