描述
- gilt bronze cloisonne enamel
the globular body rising from three legs issuing from animal mask to a detachable waisted neck, flanked by a pair of upright scroll handles, brightly enamelled against a turquoise ground with the beribboned bajixiang interspersed amongst stylised lotus strapwork, all below a ruyi band, the neck, handles and cover similarly decorated, surmounted by a gilt-bronze ‘dragon’ knop
Condition
The censer is divided into three parts; the neck is separated from the tripod ding. The two handles have possibly been re-attached with nails to the interior, with associated loss to the enamels around the joints. There are areas of slight depressions in places such as the top of the handle. There are general loss to some areas of the enamelling, such as around the ruyi-head border at the rim, areas surrounding the gilt-bronze rims, and near the bottom of the foot. There are losses to the whiskers and horn tips of the dragon on the gilt-bronze knop.
