the boulder carved to once face with figures on a boat journeying along a river framed by jagged rocks and gnarled pine, the reverse with scholars and attendants in a landscape, the stone of a pale green tone suffused with russet-brown inclusions, wood stand
Condition
There are nibbling and several bruises along the extremities such as the edges of the rocks and the leaves on the trees. There is a 0.2 x 0.1cm natural nick to the stone near the tree at the lower left hand corner below the sampan boat. The stone is suffused with russet inclusions and natural veining. The stone is of a more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
