- Wood, jade
of ruyi shape, supported on three bracket feet, the cover inlaid with a domed oval white jade plaque carved with two immortals carrying large peaches journeying along a rocky landscape, all encircled with five bats and a shou medallion reserved on a diaper ground, the side and the box carved with foliate floral motifs among kui dragon scrolls
Condition
The jade plaque is in excellent condition with the exception of minor nibbling along the extremities. The stone is of a slightly more celadon tone compared to the catalogue illustration. There are traces of yellow glue along the edges where it is inlaid into the wood.
The box is in good condition with the exception of minor age cracks including an approx. 4cm diagonal crack to the rim of the cover, nicks, and surface scratchings. The patina is slightly rubbed. There is minor nibbling along the extremities of the carving.
