of oval section, fitted with a hardwood rim and base raised on four splayed feet, skillfully carved in varying relief around the exterior with nine dragons flying among swirling clouds, with twisted scaly bodies and ferocious heads, their tails and mighty claws variously emerging from the billows of vapour, all above rocky outcrops crashing over a tumultuous sea, the bamboo smoothly patinated to a warm reddish-brown colour

There are some visible vertical age cracks, on partly opening on approx. 5 cm from the rim on one side. Apart from this the brushpot is in good condition.
