well potted with tapered rounded sides rising from a narrow recessed base to a thick rolled rim, painted around the exterior with a continuous scene depicting an enthroned general receiving a query from a messager in a military encampment, accompanied by numerous attendants including a group of soldiers carrying banners in the foreground, the reverse with a boy holding a cane near a large palm tree in a garden terrace, with three luohans standing by an open pavilion, the two scenes divided by thick billows of clouds, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark

The jar is in overall good condition. There are a few pin-prick bubbles or typical minor specks in the glaze, predominantly on the rim. There is some minor shrinkage to the glaze on the interior of the jar at the bottom.
