清嘉慶 嘉慶帝御寶白玉「雙螭」鈕方璽 印文：《秀木佳蔭》

of square form with a slanted trapezoid top, surmounted by a large single-horn chilong carved in high relief, detailed with bushy eyebrows and flaring nostrils, its strong limbs with well-combed hair and powerful claws, the curling body accentuated by the raised spine terminating in a scrolling bifurcated tail, its head turned backward, facing a smaller chilong with a sinuous body clambering from the opposite side, the square seal face crisply carved in seal script with four characters reading xiumu jiayin (‘Beautiful Tree, Excellent Shade’), the stone of a celadon-tinged white tone with natural inclusions and veining

The seal is overall good condition. There is a a tiny chip to the tip-end of the tail of the smaller chilong and occasional expected nibblings along the edges of the carving. The actual colour of the stone is slightly darker, somewhat more greyish compared to the catalogue illustration.

玉璽原屬嘉慶帝，質白瑩潤，間帶雲狀白絮，印鈕作雙螭龍，寄情思古。螭龍圓雕精工，造型凜凜，動感逼真，與璽邊之稜角線條形成美感對比。印面規整，刻白文「秀木佳蔭」。

「秀木佳蔭」乃「勤政親賢」之一閣，此處設一小型正殿及為數眾多之朝房，以容朝廷各部司。「勤政親賢」為皇帝主要批摺、聽政、議事，及接見大學士之處，為乾隆御題且詔命繪圖記載的《御製圓明園四十景詩》之第二景。此套詩圖完成於乾隆九年（1744），由滿州大臣唐岱（約1673-1752）與漢族內廷畫師沈源（活躍於約1728-48）合作而成。唐氏山水富傳統文人風範，沈氏受宮廷歐洲傳教士影響，善以歐洲傳入之透視技法等，作界畫繪建築。

乾隆帝為「勤政親賢」所作之詩: 「正大光明之東為勤政殿，日於此批省章奏，召對臣工，亭午始退。座後屏風書《無逸》以自勳。又東為保合太和。秀石名葩，庭軒明敞，觀閣相交，林徑四達。」此處乾隆帝曰之「秀石名葩」，據其相應位置，應與「秀木佳蔭」意指同處。

屬嘉慶之另一方「勤政親賢」印璽，瑞獸印鈕，印文「富春樓」，售於巴黎 Piasa 2011年6月10日，編號160。「富春樓」亦屬「勤政親賢」之一景。
