the compressed globular body raised on three cabriole legs in the form of lion paws issuing from mythical-beast heads, carved in low relief around the body with stylised taotie masks and flanked by a pair of mythical-beast handles securing loose rings with their clenched teeth and emitting swirls of vapour through their mouths, the domed cover carved with three projecting heads flanked by confronting mythical beasts and surmounted by an openwork chilong knob, the translucent stone of an even pale celadon colour picked out with a few icy streaks and finished with a lustrous polish
Condition
The censer is overall in very good condition with only a few tiny bruises to a few of the carved edges.
