carved in the form of a flat-bottomed boat, the bow covered with a rounded roof incised with a quatrefoil motif and the cabin pierced with openwork lattice windows, at the prow an attendant steers the rudder, the translucent stone of milky-white colour with a few patches of calcified inclusions and a russet vein, carved wood stand
Condition
The carving is overall in good condition with only a few natural patches of calcification including a 3 x 4 cm area extending on the hull in front of the rudder as visible on the illustration in the catalogue. There is another milky vein in front and some natural calcification to the rear of the boat and waves on the underside. The actual colour is consistent with the catalogue illustration.
