of rectangular form with straight flaring sides supported on four corner feet, further set within a square basin of conforming section, decorated around the exterior in famille-rose enamels against a lavender ground with a parrot perched on a gnarled peach branch amidst ripe fruits and flowers, its plumage carefully shaded in pale turquoise and pink, the leaves treated in various tones of green, the reverse with a further turquoise-feathered parrot shrugging its wings, the basin similarly decorated with fruiting and flowering branches of peach, the rims picked out with a blue key-fret, the jardinière inscribed in iron-red with the three-character mark Dayazhai, beside an oval Tian Di Yi Jia Chun seal

The tray: One of the lower corner is restored with some retouching to the enamels along the original break and crackles in the restoration. There is a further 2.5 cm restored crack at the rim with small retouching to the enamels. The jardinière: There is a restored flake at one corner with some repainting to the upper key-fret rim, otherwise it is in good condition. The base was originally drilled with a hole which is now filled-in with clay.
