each bowl with steep rounded sides rising gently towards a flared rim, painted on the exterior with two five-clawed dragons chasing 'flaming pearls' among clouds and flames, above rocks and waves, the designs all finely incised and picked out in aubergine enamel against a bright green ground, the interior and the base left white, the latter inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within double circles

Each bowl has a 5 mm hairline from the rim. The glaze is in very good condition.

據何翠媚及 Bennet Bronson，《Splendours of China’s Forbidden City. The Glorious Reign of Emperor Qianlong》，自然歷史博物館，芝加哥，2004年，頁197-202，乾隆皇帝於元宵佳節，偶與家人共膳，出席嬪妃佳人依照資輩，皆賞賚精美瓷器漆雕，此類綠地茄皮紫釉龍紋瓷器賜贈位居第六之貴人。此類二色龍紋盌盤器始燒於清康熙一朝，然康熙作例甚為罕見。綠地茄皮紫釉品種亦見於雍正、乾隆、嘉慶、道光以及光緒等朝代，其中道光器數量頗豐。
一件相若，但比例不同的康熙盌例，藏於北京故宮博物院，參見耿寶昌編，《故宮博物院藏古陶瓷資料選萃》，北京，2005年，卷2，圖版88；另舉一例，為上海博物館藏品，收錄於汪慶正編，《上海博物館藏康熙瓷圖錄》，香港，1998年，圖版196；亦有兩例，為Helen and Peter Lin 收藏，收錄於《Joined Colours. Decoration and Meaning in Chinese Porcelain》，賽克勒博物館，史密森尼博物館，華盛頓市，1993年，編號19、20。一件較大康熙盌，口沿稍內斂，繪有相同色彩龍紋，藏於三藩市亞洲藝術博物館，收錄於賀利，《Chinese Ceramics. A New Standard Guide》，倫敦，1996年，圖版615；另一尺寸較大作例，收錄於《Chinese Porcelain from the 15th to the 18th Century》，Eskenazi Ltd，倫敦，2006年，編號11。
