of circular form supported on three cabriole feet, applied with a pair of small gilt-copper lion-mask handles, the deep sides flaring up from a flat base to an everted rim, decorated around the exterior with alternating coral-red, dark blue, pale green and yellow lotus wreathed by undulating foliate scrolls against a dense turquoise ground, all above a border of upright multi-coloured petal lappets skirting the base, the base and inner rim similarly decorated with multi-coloured lotus scrolls within gilt-bronze borders, the interior fitted with a plain gilt-bronze liner

There is some characteristic pitting and minor losses to the enamels, inside and under the rim at the joint with the gilt-copper mount. There is some expected wear to the gilding on the interior consistent with age. There are some old dents to the rim on the base with associated loss of enamels near the edge and feet on the underside. There is ample amount of gilding on the wires and gilded areas.
