The luminosity and coloration of the present stone is expertly displayed through the highly polished body of this censer that has been left plain to draw full attention to its beauty. A related censer, but with mask head legs, from the T.Y. Chao collection, was sold twice in these rooms, 29th November 1979, lot 414, and again, 19th May 1987, lot 1255. Compare also a white jade censer of similar form sold in these rooms, 11th April 2008, lot 3098, and again at Christie’s Hong Kong, 1st June 2011, lot 3752.
