carved in the form of a recumbent goose and its gosling tenderly grasping each end of a piece of pondweed in their beaks, the goose's feathery wings folded along the body and its webfeet neatly tucked beneath, the softly polished stone of warm greenish-yellow colour accented with a russet and beige calcified section defining the bird's plumage, carved wood stand

There is some old natural pitting in the stone under the body of the bird and some natural milky inclusions on the main bird head and ribbon but overall the group is in quite good condition.
