finely potted with an elegant pear-shaped body rising from a narrow cylindrical foot to a tall, slender neck flared toward the rim, covered overall in a rich, evenly crackled pale moss-green glaze stopping just above the footring revealing the brick-red biscuit-fired body, the interior and the recessed base partially glazed

Condition
There is a small 8 mm. restored chip to the rim, and a 7 mm. restored area inside the footring. Otherwise, this vase is in good condition. The actual colour is slightly deeper than catalogue illustration.

北京懷柔縣出土一件相關作品，現藏北京首都博物館，展於《中國文物精華》，北京故宮博物院，北京，1990年，編號136，當時被列為汝窰器。參見沐文堂舊藏耀州窰瓶，2003年11月12日於倫敦蘇富比售出，編號40；另一同類作品，列展於《耀州瓷精品》，大阪市立東洋陶瓷美術館，1977年，編號103；Herbert Ingram 爵士藏一藍釉鈞窰瓶，見於展覽《Oriental Ceramics Society Exhibition of Sung Dynasty Wares. Chun and Brown Glazes》，倫敦，1952年，編號2。
臨汝位於耀州以東約200英里，為中國北方石器、黑瓷、白瓷、鈞瓷之主要產地。據 Nigel Wood，《Chinese Glazes》，倫敦，1999年，頁115-6，臨汝乃受耀州窰之影響下方始燒製青瓷，於十二世紀時尤其活躍，但較之耀州青瓷，臨汝窰青瓷釉色則偏向深綠、少橄欖色，質較透明，亦稱「艾葉青」。Rose Kerr 於《Song Ceramics》，倫敦，2004年，頁60中指出，臨汝出土之一塊瓷片釉料豐厚、富亮澤、呈深綠色，由此可知助熔劑用率及燒製速度較耀州瓷更高，並收錄兩件疑為臨汝模製盤，圖版57、57a。關於汝窰、鈞窰、及耀州窰青瓷之關係，見汪慶正等，《汝窰的發現》，香港，1991年，頁107-110。
