Condition
The canvas has been relined. Ultraviolet light reveals some strokes of retouching, notably in the background above the arms and head of the central figure, strenghtening in the dress of the figure to the right, in and above the cushion to the right, and in the background near the upper framing edge, and there are some small areas of green fluoresce which appear to be residual traces of an old varnish. There is some light frame rubbing at the extreme edges of the composition. The painting is in good overall condition and ready to hang.
Held in a decorative rococo-style frame.
The catalogue illustration is overall a good representation of the painting.
