The canvas has not been lined. There are light horizontal stretcher marks corresponding to the upper and central stretcher bars, and faint lines of craquelure consistent with an unlined painting of this age. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor signs of retouching notably in the upper left and right corners and the lower right quadrant of the sky. This painting is in good condition and ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame with floral and foliate motifs, with a nameplate.
The colours are somewhat subtler and less saturated in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
