Condition
Each work is held in a simple gilt frame. The colours in the original are more vivid than the catalogue illustrations suggest.
(i)
The panel is flat and even. There are no signs of retouching under ultraviolet light. Apart from some areas where the varnish has discoloured with age, and one or two tiny scattered spots of paint flaking in the lower half of the composition, this painting is in good condition.
(ii)
The panel is very slightly bowed convex as viewed along the left and right edges, however is otherwise providing a stable support. Apart from a few minor scattered spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, this painting is in good condition.
