Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are some scattered fine lines of craquelure (visible in the catalogue illustration). Ultraviolet light reveals some strokes of retouching notably in the awning to the right of the centre, in the sky just above the horizon, spots in the figures and water, and scattered along the framing edges.
Held in a decorative frame.
The colours are slightly subtler and less red overall than in the catalogue illustration.
