Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are a few scattered fine lines of craquelure, notably in the figure's waist and in her right upper arm. Under ultraviolet light the varnish fluoresces quite opaquely, obscuring a clear reading of the surface, however there appear to be some signs of retouching notably in the figure's face, scattered strokes in the background, and spots in the figure's dress. The overall appearance of the work is good.
Held in a decorative gilt frame.
The colours are slightly brighter and less red overall than in the catalogue illustration.
