Condition
The canvas has been laid on board, which is providing a flat and stable support. As visible in the catalogue illustration, there are some scattered fine lines of craquelure, and three evenly-spaced small holes along the right edge, which likely correspond to the former tacking edge. There are no signs of retouching visible under ultraviolet light. This painting is in good overall condition, and is ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame, with floral and foliate motifs.
The colours in the catalogue illustration are somewhat too orange overall, compared with the painting in the original.
