Overall the condition of the bronze is very good with minor dirt and wear to the patina consistent with age. The bronze is cast in sections and slightly visible original casting joints can be seen at the top of the tree stump and at the top of the proper right arm. The bronze base plate is cast separately. There is wear to the original lacquer throughout, particularly to the back and chest. There is wear to the base consistent with age, with particular wear to the gilding.
